Where to enjoy brunch in the New Year

We’re all looking forward to the celebrations on the evening of December 31st, but it’s not too early to start thinking about how to spend the first day of the year. Whether you’re in Paris with friends, family or the special one in your life, a January 1st brunch is a great way to start 2018. To help you make it one of your resolutions, we’re pleased to offer an overview of the best places to enjoy brunch on New Year's Day in the capital.

At the Restaurant Thoumieux

Located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, the restaurant Le Thoumieux offers a buffet brunch comprised exclusively of high quality and tasty ingredients. For a price of 75 euros per person, you can enjoy a meal cleverly concocted by the two-star chef Sylvestre Wahid. In an exceptional setting you can enjoy a wide and appetising range of delights such as homemade jams, pastries and the famous Jean-Yves Bordier butter. You will also want to take advantage of the homemade smoked salmon, Gillardeau oysters and mature cheeses, as well as eggs prepared any way you wish and even caviar accompanied by sumptuous champagne.

On the 7th floor of the Terrass" Hotel

If you want to spend the first day of 2018 enjoying delicious food while taking in a majestic view of the capital, the Terrass" Hotel invites you to get a little closer to the stars by heading up to its 7th floor. For the price of 70 euros per person, you can enjoy a rich menu accompanied by a glass of champagne. On the sweet side, hot viennoiseries, homemade pastries, fruit and Yule logs will tempt all but the most resolute. On the savoury side, timeless smoked salmon accompanied by blinis, as well as charcuterie, eggs, langoustines and fines de claire d’Oleron oysters will bring you moments of pure gastronomic bliss. You can also enjoy hot dishes such as fillet of sea bass fillet or mixed prawns.

The two restaurants of the Hotel Le Meurice

The Hotel Le Meurice boasts not one, but two fine restaurants. You can find the Dali and the Meurice d'Alain Ducasse in the 1st arrondissement of Paris and treat yourself to a dream brunch. The brunch here is always sumptuous and the setting changes according to your desires. Accompanied by a glass of Moët et Chandon Brut Impérial Champagne, you can savour the finesse of fresh and sophisticated ingredients. Set at a price of 180 euros per person, this brunch consists of hot and cold seasonal items. For example, you can enjoy sweet and savoury rum babas, grilled lobster, beef Wellington, fine oysters and black truffle / Comté shells.
