Summer pleasures at the Parc de la Villette
Published on 5 August 2019, dans What to do in Paris
If you’re spending your summer holidays in Paris you’ll find there’s a wealth of things to do for all the family! The Parc de la Villette, for example, offers a sunshine programme on the banks of the Canal de l'Ourcq featuring activities for children, outdoor cinema and days at the beach. The summer of 2019 promises to be sunny and full of fun!
Europa Kids; a paradise for children
Europa Kids, an inflatable amusement park for children, returns for a third season to the Parc de la Villette.
Until September 2nd your kids can have endless fun with bouncy castles, ball pools, labyrinths, trampolines and the XXL toboggan!
Outdoor cinema; a big screen under the stars
After a sunny day, you will certainly appreciate the relative coolness of the evening as you settle down on the grass or in a deckchair to watch a movie for free, courtesy of the Villette open-air film festival. Until August 18th you can enjoy cinematic gems on a big screen under the stars. This year’s theme is ‘Tomorrow’, so you can expect some science fiction classics such as the brilliant Blade Runner 2049.
Cool off with Paris Plages
The City of Paris offers a taste of seaside fun with Paris Plages (Paris Beaches). Various temporary seaside-style resort areas have been set up along the Seine, with swimming, canoeing and other water-based activities available in the Bassin de la Villette.
Don’t miss the City of Science and Industry and the City of Music
Holidays are also a great time to learn new things about the wonders of science or the joys of music. Your children will be thrilled to visit the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, situated near your Hotel Jacques de Molay. You’ll also want to check out the various exhibitions and concerts offered by the Cité de la Musique in the Parc de la Villette.
